Welcome to Shoppes At Wood Ridge, “Your Place To Meet And Shop Since 1979.” The mall motto is “Something's Always Happening Here” and it is! Over 20 major events and shows are held each year plus many smaller ones. Shoppes At Wood Ridge has a long history in the Marshfield community beginning in 1978, when local mer-chants decided that there was a need for a mall in Marshfield . The mall opened in the fall of 1979 as North-way Mall.
Originally the mall, which occupies 20 acres of land, had a capacity of 258,000 square feet of building space with spaces for 36 businesses. With department store expansion in 1994, the mall gained an-other 30,000 square feet of space. Then in the summer of 2004, major exterior upgrades to the building cre-ated the exterior that the mall has today. At that time, a food court was also added. The $1,000,000 remodel and expansion made the mall it's current 298,000 sq. ft . size. Some of the original stores are still located in the mall including JCPenney, Regis Salon, Radio Shack, Tea Shop and Stone Fence.
Terry Linduski, is the general manager of the mall. Prior to coming to Shoppes At Wood Ridge Terry man-aged other malls plus served as marketing director for a bank and a finance company and was president of a 12 store retail company. Terry says the friendly local feel of the independent store and chain store employees as well as the shoppers here makes this a great place to work. “I and my staff are always looking for ways to improve the mall and our customer's shopping experience”. Something he is particularly pleased with is the mall's web site which contains individual store product and contact information all upcoming events, store sales, coupons, even leasing information.
